A delicately bold & timeless terrace

A restrained approach was taken to update and revitalise a terrace house in Sydney’s leafy inner-city suburb of Paddington.

Heritage features set the tone, whilst a modern sensibility aids in bringing a contemporary flair and moments of pared back luxury. A balance of contrasting materials and hues are seen throughout the home, which create interest and depth. Natural stones with strong marble veining were selected for maximum impact, whilst speaking to a more classical and opulent aesthetic. Softer hues, such as those employed for joinery and walls, dial down the drama and create a home that is calm, balanced and sophisticated.

Lighting, hardware and storage solutions have all been carefully considered, ensuring the most practical outcomes. Feature lighting, such as wall lights throughout the home strike a balance of classic and contemporary style, whilst a gentle glow is present within the kitchen, by the way of concealed LED lighting, evoking a sense of softness and celebrating the coffered ceiling detail. The discreet laundry within the powder room elevates the everyday experience, with the addition of inset wallpaper panels complimented by beautifully organic and fresh, white handmade tiles. The marble clad portal connecting the kitchen and living area, as well as the Calacatta Viola and walnut veneer double vanity of the main bathroom offer a hotel-like ambience and unique moments within the home.
