Nestled in the tranquil beachside suburb of Coledale on the South Coast of New South Wales, our Coledale Cottage is a calming coastal retreat for Director, Cushla McFadden's family.
Full of forward-thinking and sustainable design details, including a state-of-the-art prefabricated studio that sees structurally insulated panels made from locally sourced timber, resulting in a building that is not only sustainable but also highly efficient.
Materials specified throughout include recycled glass products, Australian quartzite, Australian made soft furnishings and fabrics and living tumbled brass and aged bronze finishes that will naturally patina over time and age beautifully, eliminating the need for replacement due to salt exposure. Cleverly integrated storage solutions make it possible for a family to comfortably inhabit this space. A minimalist approach was taken aesthetically, balanced with details reminiscent of the coastal vernacular of the area seeing a palette of crisp whites, earthy green and grey hues and timber veneer, creating a calm and sophisticated coastal retreat.
